Apollo Micro Systems Limited
Weapon electronics for missiles, land, air, naval and space programmes.
Apollo Micro Systems is the electronics layer underneath a large share of India's indigenous weapons. Incorporated in Hyderabad in 1997 and listed on both Indian exchanges since 2018, the company designs and builds mission-critical embedded hardware and then increasingly the whole weapon around it. Its own site divides the work into seven verticals. Missile defence is the largest, and it supplies fuzing through to fire control: integrated avionics units for the quick reaction surface-to-air missile programme and for Akash-NG, mission launch processors for the Rudram anti-radiation missile, signal processors for Astra, and control and power units associated with Pralay and the long range glide bomb. Ground defence covers battlefield electronics, smart munitions and armoured combat system integration, including the UNIAC unit associated with the Pinaka rocket system and a multi-role combat rocket. Air defence work rests on CEMILAC certification and DO-178B Level A software, and runs to guided rockets, fuzing systems, electro-optic control units, aerial bombs and drone delivery systems.
Naval defence is the segment that has generated the most public news. Apollo builds homing systems for light and heavy weight torpedoes, and in September 2024 took an order from Bharat Dynamics for the software defined universal homing system of the Varunastra heavy weight torpedo. The same vertical carries influence and moored sea mines, limpet mines, a mini torpedo, the RGB-60 anti-submarine rocket, an unmanned attack boat, acoustic modems, Doppler velocity logs, altimeters and side scan sonar. Space systems supplies precision electronics for launch vehicles and satellites, including data handling systems transferred from ISRO. Two smaller verticals cover homeland security, with a handheld anti-drone system, a vehicle-scale drone detection and jamming system and a portable bomb jammer, and information technology and cybersecurity work for defence networks. Underpinning all of it are avionics bus products in the 1553B standard, automated test equipment, ground support units, composite containers and radomes, power supply systems and radio frequency modules.
A services arm sells the same engineering by the hour. That covers hardware and software design, mechanical and electronic computer-aided design, contract electronics manufacturing on automated surface-mount lines, environmental testing and inertial system calibration. The company reported revenue of 904 crore rupees for the financial year to March 2026, up 61 per cent on the prior year, and has been buying its way up the value chain. Its subsidiary Apollo Defence Industries completed the purchase of IDL Explosives in November 2025 for about 107 crore rupees, adding energetics to an electronics house. In December 2025 Apollo received transfer of technology for a 10 kilowatt laser directed energy weapon developed by the DRDO Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences, and in July 2026 the Indian Air Force named it prime development agency for a precision guidance and range extension kit for 500 kilogram bombs.
