Arotech Corporation
Use-of-force, driving, air warfare and live-fire training systems plus military battery and charger production.
Arotech today is mostly a training and simulation company with a battery business attached, and it is worth being precise about that because the company looked different a few years ago. It was listed on Nasdaq until Greenbriar Equity Group took it private in 2020. Greenbriar then sold it to Albion River, a Washington-based defense and security investor, in a deal that closed at the end of January 2025. The public-company structure of two roughly equal divisions is gone. What is left is five operating businesses, four of them in simulation and one in power.
FAAC Incorporated is the core. It has been building systems engineering and analytical software for the US government and its contractors for more than 50 years, and it covers two very different markets. On the military air side it produces tactical air and land warfare models, air combat training simulation, integrated air defense simulation, aerial refueling and boom operator trainers, and the Zone Acquisition Program weapons engagement software that was moved from the training world into fighter operational flight programs. Configuration and control tooling ships as SimBuilder and SimController. On the ground vehicle side FAAC builds high-fidelity driving simulators for military drivers and route clearance, combat convoy and counter-IED training, and for police, fire, ambulance, transit bus, truck and snow plow operators.
Inter-Coastal Electronics, incorporated in 1998, holds the Tactical Engagement Simulation System program of record for US Army aviation. It designs, manufactures and sustains test, telemetry and live training instrumentation, collecting and transmitting live fire mission data with wireless telemetry, geometric pairing, area weapon effects and GPS tracking, then feeding it into after action review. Its fielded systems support Army aviation, uncrewed aircraft, field artillery, air defense artillery, ground missile systems and dismounted troops for the US Department of Defense and nine international customers.
MILO is the use-of-force line, formerly sold under the IES Interactive Training name and in the market since 1994. It runs from the single-screen MILO Range Classic through MILO Range Pro and Advanced to the 300 degree MILO Range Theater, plus MILO Range Shoothouse, MILO Range Live Fire, MILO VR, the M-SATS tactical trainer and CBTSim, a curriculum-led de-escalation and decision-making system. Customers are law enforcement, military, corrections, security and public safety agencies in around twenty countries.
Realtime Technologies, founded in 1998 and folded into the simulation group in 2008, supplies the vehicle dynamics and scenario software behind much of that work. Its products include SimCreator and SimCreator DX, the Fusion graphics engine, Maneuver Designer, SimObserver Pro, SimADAS and SimDriver, and they sell into automotive research labs as well as into defense programs.
Epsilor is the remaining power business. It develops and produces military battery packs, chargers and battery management electronics, covering rugged soldier batteries, NATO 6T and high voltage lithium-ion vehicle batteries, wearable and field deployable tactical power and data networks, aerospace batteries for missiles, uncrewed aircraft and space, and marine and underwater cells, along with testing and qualification services.
