//Overview

D-Fend Solutions takes a deliberately awkward line on counter-drone work. Most of the field either jams the control link or shoots the aircraft down. EnforceAir, the company's core system, instead identifies the drone's communication protocol, takes over the link, and flies the aircraft to a predefined landing point under the operator's control. What matters is what does not happen. No debris falls, nearby communications, navigation and air traffic systems keep working, and the airframe survives intact for forensic examination afterwards. That combination is what sells it into places where a jammer or a gun is a poor fit, meaning airports, dense city centers, prisons, stadiums, borders and close protection details.

The company was founded in 2016 in Ra'anana, Israel by Zohar Halachmi, Assaf Monsa and Yaniv Benbenisti, and raised institutional funding from Vertex Israel and Claridge Israel. It has since opened operations in Virginia and the United Kingdom and localized sales for Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, Japan and South Korea, with systems used by security and law enforcement agencies in more than 30 countries. In June 2026 Motorola Solutions announced a definitive agreement to buy D-Fend for 1.5 billion dollars, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of that year, which would end its run as an independent company.

The product line is narrow by design and deep in deployment options. EnforceAir2 is the current generation of the core cyber takeover system. EnforceAir PLUS, launched in 2025, is the multilayer configuration that wraps radar and an optional jammer around the RF cyber core so operators can fall back to other effects when takeover is not available. EnforceAir UX is the operator interface and EnforceAir Analytics handles post-incident review and reporting. MSC2, the Multi-Sensor Command and Control system, sits above all of it, aggregating D-Fend and third-party sensors into one air picture and passing cues between them.

Around that core sits a set of deployment kits that account for much of the company's practical range. There is a tactical kit for dismounted teams, a backpack version, covert and military vehicle installations, a stationary configuration for fixed sites, a long-range directional option, and a maritime variant hardened for naval and shipborne use, where salt, motion and confined topside space complicate everything. Training and professional services go with the systems, which matters more than it sounds, because operating a takeover system is a different discipline from operating a jammer and the decision points are different too.

D-Fend holds ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001 certification along with the NATO AQAP 2110 quality standard, which is the sort of paperwork that gets a mid-sized Israeli firm through European and North American procurement. Its published sector list runs past a dozen entries, covering military, homeland security, law enforcement, airports, border protection, maritime security, critical infrastructure, stadiums, prisons, government buildings, media events, VIP protection and commercial enterprise. The through-line is the same in every one of them. These are places where the cost of the countermeasure has to stay lower than the cost of the threat.
