Epsilor, formally Epsilor-Electric Fuel Ltd., designs and builds smart batteries and battery management systems from two research and manufacturing sites in Israel, one at the Rotem science park near Dimona and one at Beit Shemesh. It describes itself as having more than four decades of work in electrochemistry and battery management behind it. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Arotech Corporation, where it forms the energy solutions business alongside the US affiliate UEC Electronics. Arotech's own ownership has changed twice in recent years. The private equity firm Greenbriar Equity Group took Arotech private in 2020 and sold it to Albion River LLC in February 2025, so Epsilor now sits two levels down inside a privately held American group.
The most visible line is defence vehicle power. Epsilor builds lithium batteries in the NATO 6T format under the COMBATT name, aimed at armoured vehicles, main battle tanks, deployable weapon systems and naval installations. The range spans two chemistries. The lithium iron phosphate ELP-02426 and its metal-cased ELP-02426-M variant deliver 2,560 watt-hours at 100 amp-hours, positioned on cost and safety. The lithium-ion NCA products go considerably higher, with the ELI-52526-DM at 3,630 watt-hours and 144 amp-hours, the ELI-52526-C at 4,200 watt-hours and 166 amp-hours for robotics and storage duty, and the ELI-52526-GM at 4,400 watt-hours and 175 amp-hours. All are built against the US Army MIL-PRF-32565C safety and performance specification and carry integrated battery management.
On top of that base the company has built a military high voltage battery system that stacks standard 6T units in series to reach up to 1,000 volts, with a joint high-voltage battery management system monitoring each individual pack. The engineering argument is logistical rather than electrical. Using a qualified, air-transportable, already-certified module as the building block avoids the certification and supply chain problems that come with a bespoke high voltage design, which matters for hybrid-electric vehicle programmes and deployable directed energy or radar loads.
The dismounted side is sold as tactical power networks, covering wearable batteries and field-deployable power and data connectivity for soldier systems, along with the charger range that goes with them. Epsilor has taken the position that power and data should be treated as one network on the soldier rather than as separate cable runs.
Two further lines round out the portfolio. Aerospace batteries cover missiles, unmanned aircraft and space applications, where cell selection is driven by shelf life, temperature range and vibration rather than cycle count. Marine and underwater batteries serve e-boats, submersibles and underwater vehicles, with the company having taken IEC 62133 certification for 48V and 24V marine products. Alongside the hardware, Epsilor sells research, development, testing and qualification services for military power and energy storage, which is a natural extension of running its own environmental and safety test infrastructure. Products are in service with military users across five continents.
