Frequentis has been selling communication equipment out of Vienna since 1947, and the through-line across almost eighty years is the same: systems where a dropped message costs a life. Air traffic management is the largest of its two reporting segments. The company holds roughly 30 percent of the world market for air traffic control voice communication systems, and VCS 3020X is the reason, a switch certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration and installed at area control centres, approach units and towers on every continent. Around that sit smartSTRIPS for electronic flight data in towers and centres, MosaiX SWIM as the message broker and service registry layer for system wide information management, DIVOS for legal recording and incident replay, and a digital tower product line using 4K and thermal camera arrays to run an aerodrome from a remote operations room. Airports are treated as a market area in their own right, covering apron and ground handling coordination, airport operations centres and the communication backbone that ties them to the tower.

Defence contributed around 18 percent of revenue in 2025 and is run as a named market area rather than a side business. VOICE C2 handles multi-domain secure command and control communication, iSecCOM serves air defence and military air traffic control units, MilRADNET distributes radar tracks across military flight surveillance networks, and a low-altitude air picture product plus a military uncrewed traffic management system address the drone problem in national airspace. The Data Fusion Cell pulls sensor and uncrewed system feeds into one analysis picture.

The second segment, public safety and transport, covers emergency control rooms, railways and the maritime domain of coastguards, vessel traffic services and port authorities. LifeX is the multimedia integration platform behind newer control rooms, ASGARD the software-based voice switch for emergency services and airport operations, and MissionX the mission-critical services product for 4G and 5G push-to-talk. Integrated command and control offerings support NENA i3 for next generation 911 in the United States and EENA long term definition for 112 in Europe. Railway work runs through GSM-R dispatcher systems and their successor, the Future Railway Mobile Communication System. Regola, an Italian computer-aided dispatch house, joined as a majority holding in 2022 and supplies the dispatch layer, following Comsoft in 2016 for aeronautical data and messaging, the L3Harris voice communication business in 2021 and GuardREC in 2023.

The group listed on the Vienna and Frankfurt exchanges in May 2019 under the ticker FQT, with the founding Bardach interest retaining control. 2025 revenue reached 580.1 million euros, up 20.8 percent, with operating profit of 46.8 million and order intake of 680.2 million euros. Orders on hand closed the year near 795 million. Around 2,600 people work for the group, three quarters of them in technical disciplines, serving more than 550 customers with products deployed in roughly 150 countries and some 49,000 operator working positions. Older reference wins still shape the business, among them the Deutsche Bahn dispatcher rollout of 2002 and the London Metropolitan Police integrated communications contract of 2005.
