Integris Composites

Integris Composites is the company that was TenCate Advanced Armour until September 2023. The lineage matters because the name change is recent and the older name still appears on vehicle programmes and technical literature. The armour business was carved out of Royal TenCate and re-established as a stand-alone company in 2020, bought by Agilitas Private Equity in March 2021, renamed Integris in 2023, and in April 2026 Agilitas agreed to sell it to Triton, subject to regulatory clearance. It runs around 370 people, with European headquarters in Amsterdam, production in the United States, France and Denmark, and sales coverage across more than fifty countries.

The business is vertically integrated in a way most armour suppliers are not. It designs, engineers, tests and manufactures in house and handles lifecycle management on the products it fields, rather than converting somebody else's laminate to somebody else's drawing. That is the pitch to prime contractors, and the customer list reflects it. BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall have all used Integris armour on platforms.

Four product areas carry the business. Vehicle protection is the largest and covers add-on armour kits for military and civilian vehicles, kinetic protection packages certified to STANAG 4569 levels four through six, turret protection, mine and blast protection, and armour for remote controlled weapon stations. Personal protection covers hard body armour plates built to both US and European standards, plus a ballistic shield range spanning handheld, trolley-mounted and custom designs for police and specialist units. Aerospace covers armour for military and commercial aircraft, retrofit kits and the engineering and integration work that goes with certifying protection onto an airframe. The naval line covers shields for vessels, modular protection packages, onboard system protection and armour for small craft, extending into protection for private yachts.

Two current programmes show the range. In 2025 Integris was selected by BAE Systems Hagglunds to supply ballistic protection for additional CV90 infantry fighting vehicles bound for European operators, building on a long-standing supply relationship on that platform. In October 2025 American Rheinmetall named Integris as armour partner for the US Army's XM30 combat vehicle, the Bradley replacement programme, which is the largest single opportunity in the company's history.

The Denmark site began as Roshield in 2004 and is now a key European plant. US operations include a facility in Hebron, Ohio, which matters for American programmes with domestic content rules, with further offices in Washington DC, California, France, the UK and Singapore. Qualified production on both sides of the Atlantic is the structural advantage, since European and US armour programmes increasingly cannot source across the ocean without friction.

What Integris sells is not a catalogue item so much as an engineering answer to a threat specification. A vehicle armour package is designed against a stated STANAG level for a particular hull, tested, qualified and then supported through the platform's life. That is a slower and more technical sale than shipping plates, and it is why the company calls itself one of the few vertically integrated specialists in the field. The flip side is concentration, since revenue rides on a handful of long-running platform programmes.
