LISI Aerospace makes the things that hold aircraft together. It is the larger of the two divisions of LISI, a French group whose industrial lineage runs back to 1777 and which entered aerospace in 1977, and it contributed 1,191.1 million euros of the group's 1.75 billion euro 2025 revenue, roughly 68 percent of the total. About 6,630 people work for the division across 19 production sites in eight countries, including plants at Parthenay, Bologne and Saint-Ouen-l'Aumone in France and at Rugby in the United Kingdom. The remaining division, LISI Automotive, supplies fastening and mechanical components to vehicle manufacturers and to the electrification market, turning over 558.5 million euros from 2,907 employees at 19 sites in nine countries. Taken together the group runs 38 production sites in 14 countries with a headcount of 9,634.
Fasteners are the historic core and still the centre of gravity. The division produces bolts, screws, rivets, blind fasteners, nuts and lockbolts to aerospace standards, parts whose value sits in metallurgy, fatigue performance and dimensional control rather than in complexity. Millions go into a single airframe. Structure assembly and components is the second line, covering machined and formed structural parts and assembled subframes, and it is here that the division moved up from selling pieces to selling finished assemblies. Equipment components cover parts for aircraft systems, and engine components supply the propulsion houses with blades, discs and other hot and rotating parts that carry the toughest qualification burden in the industry. Hydraulic fittings entered the portfolio through the American business B&E Manufacturing.
Two areas point at where the division expects growth. Defence and space is a named product area in its own right, serving military airframes, launchers and satellites where volumes are smaller but qualification barriers and margins are higher, and the surge in European defence budgets has made it more attractive than it was a decade ago. Additive manufacturing runs through LISI Aerospace Additive Manufacturing, wholly owned within the structural components division since July 2018, which prints metal parts for aeronautics, defence and space customers and lets the group offer topology-optimised components that cannot be machined conventionally. The division's customers are the large airframers and engine makers, Boeing among them, and its position in the supply chain means its order book tracks build rates rather than individual programmes. LISI as a whole is listed in Paris, so the aerospace division reports through the parent rather than holding its own listing. The group states 2026 objectives of improved financial indicators and positive free cash flow, built on revenue growth across all aerospace segments and gains in market share. For a supplier at this level of the chain that is largely a bet on airframer delivery rates holding up.
