TacMed Australia is a veteran-owned Australian business that supplies point-of-injury medical equipment, trains the people who use it, and increasingly puts its own clinicians on site. It was founded in 2010 by people who had done the job, is headquartered in Coffs Harbour in New South Wales with a Western Australian office at Bibra Lake, and runs its stated goal as zero preventable deaths. It is a smaller operation than most of the international names it stocks, with revenue in the single-digit millions, but it occupies a specific position as the domestic integrator between imported trauma products and Australian end users.

The product business is the visible half. It builds and sells first aid kits across a wide spread of use cases: tactical individual first aid kits, dedicated bleeding control kits, full trauma kits, workplace kits, vehicle kits, and remote and outdoor kits for people a long way from a hospital. Custom kit design for organisations is a real part of this, since a mine site, a police tactical unit and a film production have genuinely different requirements and different regulatory constraints. Underneath the kits sits the component catalogue: tourniquets and tourniquet holders, haemostatic dressings, chest seals, airway and breathing adjuncts, wound dressings and bandages, hypothermia management, diagnostics and vital signs equipment, and personal protective equipment. Carriage is its own category, covering tactical and IFAK pouches, radio harnesses, search and rescue bags, ambulance trauma bags and gear packs. Hardware runs to stretchers and litters, splints, trauma shears, rescue knives, emergency lighting and defibrillators.

Simulation is a separate line and one of the more distinctive parts of the business. TacMed sells training equipment, consumables, task trainers and wearable simulation products used to make casualty care training realistic, which pairs naturally with the training side of the house.

Training runs through a dedicated division with its own portal and draws on a national network of more than 120 instructors, paramedics and doctors. The material is aimed at people who will be treating serious trauma before an ambulance arrives, which is a different curriculum from workplace first aid.

The third strand, and the one that has grown most, is medical services. TacMed deploys credentialled paramedics to client sites with the equipment and clinical authority to actually treat life-threatening emergencies rather than just call for help. The offering extends to aeromedical and helicopter critical care teams, special operations paramedics, rescue paramedics with technical rescue capability, 24-hour telemedicine support under the TacMed 365 banner, on-site clinic design and infrastructure, and clinical governance frameworks for organisations that need to demonstrate a defensible standard of care.

Customers span law enforcement, defence, ambulance services, fire and rescue, mining and resources, film production and outdoor recreation. TacMed supplies Australian Defence Force personnel and the wider veteran community with the same equipment used operationally, and its position in the Australian market rests on holding stock, understanding local standards and being able to train and staff as well as supply.
