TAT Technologies began in Bnei-Brak in 1969 as a defence manufacturer and spent the following decades turning itself into an aerospace components and services group with more revenue coming from American facilities than Israeli ones. The company entered commercial markets in 1989, bought Limco in Tulsa in 1993, added Piedmont Aviation Component Services in Greensboro in 2005 and Turbochrome in Kiryat Gat in 2015, then consolidated everything under a single operating structure in 2018 and a single brand in April 2025. Roughly 500 people work across the Gedera plant in Israel and the North Carolina and Oklahoma sites, with executive offices in Charlotte. The shares trade on the Nasdaq Global Market under TATT and also in Tel Aviv. Revenue reached 178.0 million dollars in 2025, up 17 percent, on record backlog.

Thermal Solutions is the oldest and most distinctive segment. TAT designs and builds heat exchangers that manage the hot side of an aircraft, pre-coolers that drop bleed air temperature before it reaches the air conditioning packs, and oil, fuel and hydraulic coolers, and it repairs the same units under OEM approvals. The Gedera facility also makes flow components, ground environmental control units including a five ton military unit, and maskant materials used in chemical milling. Because TAT both manufactures and overhauls the parts, it sees failure modes across the installed base that a pure manufacturer does not, which feeds the design side.

The services segments are where the growth has been. APU Services holds licensed authority, including Honeywell approvals, to overhaul auxiliary power units on platforms fitted to more than 25,000 aircraft, work that runs through Piedmont and the American network. Landing Gear Services carries licensed overhaul authority across commercial, business jet and military platforms, with designated specialist status for Embraer gear. Engine component repair and coating sits with Turbochrome, and machining and plating shops support both. A fourth reported segment, Trading and Leasing, is the commercial answer to a supply-constrained market: TAT keeps stocks of exchangeable heat transfer units, APU engines and components and leases APUs outright, so an operator grounded by a shortage gets a serviceable unit immediately and sends the failed one back for overhaul. That inventory position has become a competitive asset while new APU lead times stay long. Defence and ground defence remain in the mix across all of it, with military heat exchangers, environmental control units and gear work alongside the airline business, and Limco Airepair has held United States Army contracts for fluid electric coolers. The innovation programme is pointed at NextGen propulsion, developing scalable thermal management and universal cooling systems for electric vertical take-off and hybrid-electric aircraft, where the heat rejection problem is larger than on a conventional airliner. Customers include Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and major carriers.
