WB Group grew out of WB Electronics, founded in 1997, and is now the largest privately held defence technology business in Poland. Head office is in Ozarow Mazowiecki, west of Warsaw. Around twenty companies sit under the holding, each with its own specialism. Flytronic in Gliwice designs unmanned aircraft, Radmor in Gdynia builds tactical radios, Arex covers weapon control systems along with railway and street lighting power engineering, MindMade works on secure communications and cryptography, Polcam supplies traffic and law enforcement video systems, and the WB Composites Center makes aerospace composite structures. More than 2,600 people work across the group, over half of them engineers or research staff. Net sales reached PLN 2.9 billion in 2024, roughly double the previous year, and the Polish Development Fund holds a minority stake taken in 2017.
UAV systems carried the name abroad. FlyEye is a hand-launched mini platform flown by Polish and Ukrainian units, and the larger FT-5 Los carries imagery, synthetic aperture radar or signals payloads. Strike systems run from the Warmate loitering munition, in Ukrainian service since 2022, up to Warmate 5 with a modular warhead of five to ten kilograms and the tube-launched Warmate TL shown at MSPO 2025. Gladius binds the aircraft, effectors, launchers, command vehicles and communications into a single reconnaissance and strike battery ordered by the Polish Armaments Agency. The C4I systems line is older and quieter. TOPAZ automates artillery fire control and now accepts cueing from unmanned platforms, while FONET is the digital vehicle communications platform that L3Harris resold into United States Army vehicles. Radmor adds the COMP@N handheld software defined radio, the R35010 personal radio and the RRC9210 manpack. Weapon control systems come from Arex, whose ZMU-05 remote station and naval ZMU-05N variant mount machine guns, 30 mm cannon or 40 mm grenade launchers.
Two newer lines point at the sea and at the individual soldier. StormRider is an 8.5 metre unmanned surface vessel developed by Radmor and Arex around lessons from the Black Sea, with tube launchers for X-Fronter reconnaissance drones. Training systems cover fire control and flight simulators so crews rehearse on the same software the fielded equipment runs. Homeland security is Polcam territory, where the SmartEye automated traffic monitoring system and the SVAN plate recognition van go to police and inspection services. Infrastructure technologies keep Arex busy on railway turnout heating and road power supply, and the electric mobility technology line covers drive platforms, management systems and components. Customers now sit in dozens of countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the United States, served through units such as WB America, WB Ukraine, WB India and WBE Technologies in Kuala Lumpur. The civil work is a real part of the balance sheet rather than a footnote. It also paid for the engineering base the military side now runs on.
