XTEND started in Israel as XTEND Reality Expansion, building indoor reconnaissance drones for units that had to clear buildings and tunnels where satellite navigation does not reach. The design idea has not changed since. Rather than chase full autonomy, XTEND puts an operator inside an augmented reality control loop and lets software handle the flying: the operator points at where the drone should go or what it should hit, and the aircraft works out the path, holds position against wall wash and gusts, and keeps its sensor on the object. The company reports a 95 percent cut in operator training time against conventional first person view drones, which is the metric that matters when the people flying these are infantry rather than pilots.

XOS is the layer the company actually sells. It is an operating system for physical robotics that runs across the fleet, handles mission planning, video, autonomy behaviours and multi-drone coordination, and takes third party payloads and airframes through an XTEND Certified programme and an associated marketplace. On top of it sit the platforms. XTENDER is the small indoor system built for close quarters combat, flying without GNSS and operating three aircraft as a mesh-networked team under one operator. Wolverine is a heavier outdoor strike and reconnaissance machine that carries a precision robotic arm, which lets an operator manipulate or place charges on a suspected device from standoff distance rather than sending an engineer forward. Griffon is the interceptor, a fast airframe used to kinetically knock down hostile drones. Scorpio 1000 is the flagship, a modular platform with artificial intelligence auto-targeting, confident flight in navigation-denied conditions and swappable effects payloads.

The customer base is heavily American and Israeli. XTEND first reached the United States Department of Defense through a joint programme with Israel's Ministry of Defense that fielded the Skylord XTENDER small unmanned aircraft system, and it has since delivered to United States special operations forces under an 8.8 million dollar order completed in March 2026 that included live-flight training for up to thirty operators, and won a multi-million dollar Department of War contract for a modular close quarters one-way attack drone kit. The company reports more than 12,500 systems delivered, use across five active combat zones and twenty patents filed or granted, with operating companies in Israel, the United States, Latvia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Two further verticals run off the same stack. Homeland security users take the platforms for critical infrastructure protection, emergency response and high-risk entries, and a commercial security line sells autonomous patrol and rapid response flights over sites that would otherwise need guards walking them. Corporate structure changed in 2026. XTEND Reality Expansion merged with JFB Construction Holdings in a transaction that raised 110 million dollars, renamed the combined business XTEND AI Robotics, Inc., moved the headquarters to Tampa, Florida, and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker XTND on 4 September 2026. Research and production remain substantially Israeli.
